Frequently Asked Questions

The typical itinerary for this Galapagos transfer involves several stages: reception at Baltra Airport, transfer by internal bus to the Itabaca Channel, ferry/barge crossing, and ground transportation via Santa Cruz to your hotel in Puerto Ayora. Depending on traffic, wait times, and ferry conditions, the journey usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes. On-site staff will assist with coordination and luggage, and shared or private transfer options are available. To expedite your travel experience, please have your TCT and National Park voucher ready, and share your flight details and the exact name of your accommodation in advance.

Generally, the airport-hotel transfer price includes arrival reception, baggage assistance, and ground transportation to your accommodation in Puerto Ayora. Depending on the type of transfer (private or shared) and the operator, some local costs may not be included, such as the airport bus and the Itabaca Channel ferry, which are usually paid in cash. Tips, surcharges for nighttime hours, or oversized baggage may also apply. Please note that the currency in the Galápagos is the US dollar, so it's advisable to carry small bills. Check your confirmation to see which services are included and which charges are payable directly en route.

The total transfer time from Baltra to your hotel in Santa Cruz is usually 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on bus wait times, the ferry crossing, and traffic towards Puerto Ayora. The tour operator coordinates your pick-up based on your flight number and arrival time, accommodating reasonable delays. For smooth travel logistics, please provide your flight number, estimated arrival time, and hotel name/address at the time of booking. If your flight changes, please notify us via our customer service channel (WhatsApp/email) to reschedule. During peak season, please plan ahead, as increased tourist demand may lengthen wait times.

As a responsible tourism policy, standard baggage is permitted (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per passenger); bulky items (diving equipment, surfboards) require prior notice and may incur additional charges. All baggage undergoes SICGAL biosecurity control: fresh fruit, seeds, plants, soil, or prohibited animal products are not allowed. Single-use plastics are discouraged in the Galápagos: please bring a reusable water bottle and reusable bags. Biodegradable sunscreen and eco-friendly insect repellent are recommended. For those with reduced mobility or requiring child seats, please request them in advance to ensure suitable vehicles and assistance during the ferry crossing and at the docks.

The tour transfer operates with licensed drivers and vehicles with valid permits; the ferry crossing includes life jackets and boarding assistance. It is suitable for families and seniors, and additional assistance, child seats, or more spacious vehicles can be requested. Cancellation policies generally allow changes or refunds with prior notice (e.g., 24–48 hours), while no-shows may forfeit the full amount. Delays due to weather or ferry logistics are handled by rescheduling, subject to availability. Always review the specific conditions of your booking and consider purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen events during your Galapagos vacation.
